Fire-rated glass is a specialty glass engineered to contain the spread of fire and smoke. Its performance is assessed by fire-resistance testing: the ability to maintain integrity (blocking flames and hot gases) and, for insulating types, thermal insulation (limiting temperature rise on the unexposed face).
Xionggang manufactures the full range of fire-rated glass families:
- Soda-lime-silicate fire-rated glass — high-strength monolithic glass produced on a dedicated high-stress tempering line
- Borosilicate 4.0 fire-rated glass — low thermal expansion for demanding integrity performance
- Nano-silica composite fire-rated glass — laminated construction with a nano-silica interlayer, in both insulating and non-insulating types
Classification under GB 15763.1
Chinese national standard GB 15763.1 (Safety glazing materials in building — Part 1: Fire-resistant glass) classifies products by the performance they must sustain in a standard fire test:

Fire-resistance ratings are graded at 30, 60, 90, 120 and 180 minutes.
Construction types
Monolithic fire-rated glass is a single pane that maintains integrity for the rated period, blocking flames and hot gases. It does not provide thermal insulation, and suits exterior curtain walls, exterior windows, skylights, smoke barriers and frameless fire-rated doors.
Laminated (composite) fire-rated glass bonds two or more panes with intumescent interlayers. On fire exposure the interlayer foams and expands into a rigid opaque barrier, blocking flames, high temperatures and harmful gases. The insulating types also prevent heat transfer to the protected side. Finished panels can be edge-worked, drilled and cut to size, and are used in fire doors and windows, fire compartment walls and protected corridors. For exterior windows and curtain walls, designs typically combine fire-rated glass with PVB laminated glass.
Gel-filled fire-rated glass seals a transparent fire-resistant gel between panes. At high temperature the gel layer rapidly cures into an opaque insulating board, giving both fire insulation and notable acoustic performance. It can be produced in curved forms and suits fire doors and windows, atria, shared spaces and computer-room compartment walls.
